On November 26, the 2020 experience sharing meeting of returned overseas personnel was be held in room 207 of the clinical skills center on the old campus. Vice President Zeng Zhu, leaders from relevant functional departments, secondary colleges, the Key Laboratory and centers, and representatives of teaching staff and medical staff attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Fu Qihong, director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office.
Zeng Zhu shared his experience of studying abroad in the United States. He believes that studying abroad can not only expand our vision, improve our ability and establish the interpersonal relationship, but also contribute to the international development of the University. He asked everyone to listen carefully to this sharing meeting and learn their experience of studying abroad through the sharing of returned teachers, and hoped that the International Exchange and Cooperation Office would further actively encourage and support the faculty to study abroad. With the prospect of studying abroad about to ameliorate, we should make preparations, plan in advance to study abroad, and strive for the goal of "building a century-old medical university with distinctive characteristics, advanced in the same category, and first-class in China".
Fu Qihong made a report on the achievements of the University in the past five years in applying for the programs of the China Scholarship Council, and stressed that studying abroad is not only conducive to improving one's own teaching and scientific research ability, but also can assist the development of the University. He hoped everyone would be well prepared to study abroad and jointly promote the internationalization process of the University.
Jiang Yinhui from the Key Laboratory of Molecular Biology shared the experience of visiting the University of Guelph in Canada, introduced the process of applying for a Canadian visa and other preparations for studying abroad, as well as the situation of living and studying abroad. He also wished everyone would keep in mind their original intentions and never forget the mission of studying abroad.
Dr. Yang Xiaoyan, a pediatrician of the Affiliated Hospital, shared her experience of studying in Duke University in the United States, the overseas students' efforts in fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic in China, and her hard journey back to China during the pandemic period.
Xie Tingting of the School of Medical Laboratory shared her experience of visiting Cornell Medical College of Cornell University in the United States, her personal experience of humanistic care during the pandemic period when she was studying in the Ivy League colleges in the United States, and her gains from living and studying in different foreign environments.
Sun Jia from the Key Laboratory of Pharmaceutic Preparation shared her experience of visiting King's College London in pharmaceutical science. She introduced her research direction, the differences between China and Britain in experimental management, and her rich and colorful life experience and harvest during her study in the UK.
Li Qinshan of the School of Medical Laboratory shared his experience of visiting the University of Maryland in the United States. He introduced his motivation and preparation for studying abroad, his various experience of living and studying in the University of Maryland, and his achievements in academic and scientific research.
