At the invitation, Professor Hu Yan, Dean of the School of Nursing of Fudan University, gave a special lecture titled Cultivation and Appraisal of Clinical Ability of Postgraduates with Master’s Degree of Nursing for all graduate supervisors and professional teachers from the GMU’s School of Nursing on the morning of June 12. The conference was held through Tencent conference platform. Nearly 30 relevant supervisors and teachers from the School of Nursing attended the lecture, and Yang Ying, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the School of Nursing, presided over the lecture.
Professor Hu Yan gave the detailed introduction from various perspectives, including the definitions of the disciplines, five elements of discipline construction, the overview of nursing discipline development at home and abroad, the comparison of nursing professional degree and scientific degree, the significance of talents with Master’s Degree of Nursing in the building of nursing discipline, strengthening of clinical capability of postgraduates with Master’s Degree of Nursing, as well as the comprehensive appraisal emphasizing the clinical capability of postgraduates with Master’s Degree of Nursing. School of Nursing of Fudan University, was among the earliest in China in offering education for postgraduates with Master’s Degree of Nursing, and has achieved brilliant results in the cultivation of postgraduates with Master’s Degree of Nursing after more than 10 years of constant exploration and lesion learning based on the steadily discipline building. It has won the first prize of the "First National Medical and Pharmaceutical Postgraduate Education Achievement Award".
In the lecture, Hu Yan gave guidance on the specific operation links, related management, work coordination and other aspects of cultivation of postgraduates with Master’s Degree of Nursing.
After the lecture, Hu Yan answered questions asked by the teachers and shared the information with them.

Ph.D. Professor Hu Yan is a, doctoral supervisor and Fellow of American Academy of Nursing. She is currently the Dean of School of Nursing of Fudan University and director of JBI Evidence-Based Nursing Cooperation Center of Fudan University, and concurrently the Vice Chairman of the Undergraduate Teaching Steering Committee for Nursing Science of Higher Education Institution of Ministry of Education, a member of the Nursing Subcommittee of the National Medical Degree Postgraduate Education Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education, a member of the Nursing Sub-committee of the Health Standard Committee of the National Health Commission, a member of the Nursing Standard Working Committee of the Chinese Nursing Association, a director of the China Global Health Network, and a standing member of the Shanghai Nursing Association and Chairman of Evidence-based Nursing Committee. She serves as Honorary Editor in Chief of the Journal of Nurses Training, Deputy Editor in Chief of Chinese Journal of Nursing Education and Chinese Journal of Modern Nursing, and an Editorial Board Member of Journal of Advanced Nursing.
Research direction: cancer nursing and evidence-based nursing practice.
In the past five years, she has been funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Health Commission, China Medical Foundation, Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, Shanghai Municipal Health and Family Planning Commission and other domestic and foreign funds. She published more than 200 papers as the first author or corresponding author in domestic and foreign core journals, including 30 SCI papers. Her research subjects have won the Second Prize of Science and Technology Award of Chinese Nursing Association, the First Prize of First National Postgraduate Education Award of Medicine and Pharmacy, and the First Prize of Teaching Achievement of Shanghai.
