GMU Achieved Excellent Results in Medical Micro-course Contest of Colleges and Universities in China

         Recently, the results of the 4th  Medical Micro-course Contest of Colleges and Universities in China were released and GMU achieved excellent results: a first prize, a third prize, two encouragement awards and one award for graceful teaching; besides,  an award for excellent organization was presented to GMU.

          The contest was co-held by National Ministry of Education and the magazine —College Medical Teaching and Research(electronic edition), which has a great impact around the country. 698 works from 91 colleges and universities of 28 provinces were submitted for the contest, among which included Peking Union Medical College , Capital Medical University, Sicuan University, Medical University of Chongqing, Fudan university,Shanghai Jiao Tong University,Harbin Medical University, Jilin University, Suzhou university,Tongji University, Jiangsu University, Southern Medical University, Nanjing Medical University and so on.  Audiovisual Education Center of GMU offered great help in micro-course design , camera shooting and picture recording in the way of teachers’ workshop. This was the first time for GMU to participate officially in the contest and finally 17 works were chosen for it. All works will be put on the Online Education Platform of GMU as shared resources.


        The aim of the National Micro-course Contest of Colleges and Universities in China is to promote the teachers’ professional development and improve their teaching skills, making them adapt to the trend of the deep integration between information technology and educational teaching and encouraging the reformation of teaching mode and improvement of the teaching quality. Micro course taking video as teaching carrier, could vividly reflect the brief but complete teaching process ,focusing on some specific knowledge or part of a teaching procedure.Taking part in the contest can not only improve the skills in making and  using micro courses but also arouse teachers’ passion to update teaching conception, to master modern teaching methods, and actively use the information technology during their teaching process. As a result, information technology will better serve for teaching, help promoted the innovative teaching and make teaching quality greatly improved.
