GMU School of Stomatology attended the 5th China-ASEAN Forum on Dentistry

On 26thOctober, Ma Hong, dean of GMU School of Stomatology, together with Tang Zhenglong(deputy party secretary), Wang Yong(vice dean) and other faculty attended the 5thChina-ASEANInternational Exchange and CooperationForum on Dentistry in Nanning, Guangxi.

The three themes of the forum are “PromotiononScientific ResearchofDentistry students in China and ASEAN”, “Relation Between OralcavityHealth and Overall Health” and “Standardization of Dentistry Education in China and ASEAN” respectively.

GMU delegation participated in the Summit forum and academic seminars on 26thand 27thin which Ministers of Health from ASEAN countries and representatives from international dentistry organizations made lectures. Ma Hong hadin-depthdiscussions onexchangeand cooperation in the field ofdentistry withoutstanding experts from Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia and Brunei. Ma Hong introduced in detail unique characteristics and advantages of GMU School of Dentistry in teaching and research to the experts, and both parties reached initialintentionof cooperation. Ma Hong also offered invitation to the experts and hoped that they would pay a visit to GMU School of Dentistry to further promote the bilateral cooperation and discuss on the construction of cooperation model.

It is also one of the top-ranking international forums on dentistry hosted and sponsored by National Health and Family Planning Commission and Guangxi provincial government. As one of the 15 forums of ministry level listed in the Program of China Regional Health Cooperation initiated by former Ministry of Health, has been held five times, once two years.
