On June 27, the University of Auckland（UOA）delegation from the U.S. visited our university for communication. They were Professor Jon Margerum - Leys, Dean of Education College, Oakland University, Michigan；Dr. Mary Otto, former vice President of UOA；Dr. Ledong Li，director of Education Exchange Center；Mr Tindall, director of Development Office for Education College; Dr. Jerome Hill, Chairman of the law office ‘Chinese Bridge’, Michigan and Ms. Jennifer Tindall, director of Department of Special Education &Student in Lapere School District, Michigan.
The informal discussion was held in the conference room on the sixth floor of north campus, which was hosted by Luo Peng, vice President of GMU. Lin Changhu, the party secretary of GMU, the relevant persons in charge from Party Committee Office, President Office, Department of Party Committee Propaganda, Division of International Relations, Department of Teachers affairs and School of Basic Medicine also attended the conference.
At the meeting, Lin Changhu made a sincere welcome to the delegation for visiting our school. He introduced the history, talent cultivation, teaching research, professional setting, foreign exchange and cooperation, hoping that we can strengthen the exchanges with the UOA, Michigan, especially in the field of language teaching and the cooperation between teacher visits and student exchanges. He also invited Professor Jon Margerum-Leys and UOA to participate in the 10th China-ASEAN Education Communication Week hosted by our university.
After the speeches delivered by the two representatives, Lin exchanged gifts and took a group photo with Jon Margerum-Leys on behalf of our university.
Subsequently, the relevant functional departments of our university and the head of the secondary schools introduced the key and teaching research of their own department respectively. They also discussed the academic exchanges, scientific research and student training in related fields.
After the meeting, Fu Qihong, Director of Division of International Relations and Zeng Zhu, Dean of School of Big Health accompanied the delegation to visit and looked around the Health Management Center of our university, which laid a good foundation for further international scientific and technological cooperation and exchanges.
