GMU Held Promotion Conference of Project Application for National Social Science Fund of China 2016 in the morning of October 17th in the conference room of No. 2 Building in North Campus of GMU, for the purpose of improving the application quality and successful rate. About 70 teachers and students from the relevant schools and departments of social sciences participated in the conference. Professor Ouyang Qian, doctoral tutor of the Philosophy Department of Renmin University and expert of National Social Science Fund of China was invited to deliver a lecture on "Experience and skills of applying for National Social Science Fund of China". the conference was presided over by Professor Luo Peng, vice president of GMU.
In his mobilization speech, Luo said, with successful renaming of GMU, the National Social Science Fund supported projects will play an importance significant role in building GMU a high level medical universities, improving the scientific and technological innovation and academic influence. Luo put forward three requirements for the future application for National Social Science Fund supported projects as follows: 1) further strengthen the leadership of the organization work; 2) take effective measures to finish mobilisation and application work; and 3) well guide the application. Luo also wished the project application for National Social Science Fund 2016 success.
Professor Guo Bing, director of Division of Science and Technology of GMU summarized the project application in 2015, analysing the existing problems and made a detailed plan and arrangement for 2016.
Professor Ouyang Qian made a thorough analysis on the application designing on the following 6 aspects: 1) filling of the application form, 2) naming of the project, 3) designing of the project content, 4) description of the research situation. 5) reference and the earlier results, and 6) members of the project research. And he stressed the characteristics of the topic selection. Subsequently, Professor Ouyang Qian exchanged and discussed some relevant issues with teachers. The participating teachers said that Ouyang's lecture solved the specific problems and the confusions encountered in their application, and it was a great help.
